Platinum Sports Games Award

🏆 We are thrilled to announce that our school has achieved the prestigious Platinum School Games Award! This incredible honour recognises our unwavering commitment to sport, physical activity, and the wellbeing of every pupil. It celebrates years of dedication, teamwork, and a vibrant sporting culture that runs through everything we do — from our daily PE lessons and after-school clubs to our inclusive sports festivals and competitive successes. This platinum status places us among the very best schools in the country for promoting active, healthy lifestyles and nurturing sporting excellence. A huge well done to our amazing pupils, staff, and community for making this outstanding achievement possible — we truly are a school that shines both on and off the field! 🌟

Sports Week

Every year we take part in National School Sports Week, dedicated to promoting the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of children and young people helping to nurture young talents to reach their full potential.

We invite and attend lots of different sporting experiences so that our children can experience and develop new skills and knowledge of a wide range of activities that are available for them to experience.

Last year we took part in Fencing, Boxercise, Skateboarding, Virtual Reality Football Frenzy, Quiddich, Tennis, Swimming, Inflatables, Climbing Walls, and Football Skills to name a few!

Sports Week

At The Links Primary School, we have designated Sports Leaders who have undergone specific training to be able to organise and deliver activities as well as teach and referee Level 0 and 1 competitions. We also actively promote 30 active minutes every day for every pupil in school as well as 30 minutes outside of school. During these activities and competitions, the Sports Leaders focus on providing opportunities to try new sports, help children prepare for competitions and encourage children who might overwise be inactive to take part in these activities. At the end of every week, the Leaders deliver certificates to winning classes who show enthusiasm, mutual respect and fantastic sportsmanship.

Sporting opportunities and experiences

We are extremely proud to offer many sporting experiences, trips and events across our whole school.
